In our world, the year 1900 was the beginning of the age of electricity in our world. In Lotherria, the utilization of electricity has begun. Some communities are not as developed when it comes to electricity while others are more than comfortable with its usage. For instance, some towns and cities have switched from gas streetlights to electric, more and more homes are being fitted with electrical upgrades, primarily for the use of electric lights and the fascinating world of broadcasting.

 

In some towns and cities, radio towers have sprung up, and electric radio has become a fancy device that everyone wants. Some want the small and attractive cathedral radios while others want the large stand radios to take up space in their homes as status symbols. The utilization of the radio varies from town to town that has this feature. It is primarily used to broadcast news, religious talk, advice shows, cooking shows, and other informational shows. Music has not yet been implemented into the radio outside of live studio performances by musicians. The push for vinyl technology and music producers and advanced recording equipment is strong and simply a matter of time before it progresses.

 

Electricity has introduced the primitive arcade into some cities. Granted, the only real advancement electricity has brought is that these arcades are specifically called Pinball Halls, as actual arcade games do not yet exist. Pinball is the game to play, and every game has pretty lights and features to attract players. players are also attracted to the different types of goals and obstacles on each cabinet. Again, music has not yet been implemented, but the lights, artwork, and gameplay keep the kids coming.

 

In cities and towns where electricity is relatively new, some appliances are coming long to replace the steampunk versions, such as freezers and refrigerators, leading to less overheating. There has also been a move towards hydroelectrical power for places that have and utilize a water wheel. This also provides an electrical option that is a bit more off grid while those within city walls are getting fitted to electrical poles. Another option of generating electricity on and off grid is the option of wind power, via windmills or large fans fueling a home or group of homes. Solar powered electricity has not yet been realized, though some experiments have teased that a breakthrough may come soon, though their answer to solar technology may vary from our own.
